It is again time to mention that the urban legend about Dr. James Dobson is circulating a petition to fight the FCC's ban against Christian programming is a hoax. It may even be an attempt to get your e-mail address. If you receive this e-mail, delete. Do not forward. The Wall of News contacted Dr. Dobson's office to determine if any basis for this e-mail is true. It is not. For further information please visit the Focus on the Family website. This is a silly urban legend.
A vitally important concern is the attempt of some to re-establish the Fairness Doctrine. In theory this FCC policy sounds good. In fact it has been created to stop debate and discussion of ideas. Cell Phones And The Do Not Call Registry
The Federal Trade Commission today reiterated
that despite the claims made in e-mails circulating on the Internet, consumers should not be concerned that their
cell phone numbers will be released to telemarketers in the near future, and that it is not necessary to register
cell phone numbers on the National Do Not Call (DNC) Registry to be protected from most telemarketing calls to
cell phones.
